NEOM Tourism Guide: How to Visit, What Is Open, and How to Plan

A practical guide to visiting NEOM in 2026. Open destinations, planned openings, how to get there, when to go, and how to plan a NEOM trip.

NEOM is becoming one of the most distinctive tourism destinations in the world, combining beach, mountain, desert, and cultural travel within a single region. As of 2026, Sindalah is open to guests, with Trojena, Magna, and other destinations following over the decade. This practical guide covers what is open today, how to visit, and how to plan a NEOM trip.

What is open today

  • Sindalah opened in October 2024 and accepts bookings through its three operating hotels, the marina, and the beach club.
  • NEOM Bay Airport receives a small but growing number of commercial flights.
  • Local hospitality at NEOM Bay community supports project staff and visiting partners.

What is coming

  • Trojena is being delivered against the 2029 Asian Winter Games deadline, with hotel and slope openings phased into the late 2020s.
  • Magna destinations including Epicon, Siranna, Utamo, and Leyja are scheduled for phased openings through the late 2020s.
  • The Line will open initial districts during the decade.

Where to fly

International access to NEOM goes through several airports.

  • NEOM Bay Airport (NUM) is the regional airport, receiving a small number of commercial flights and the airport for project staff and partners.
  • King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah is the principal Saudi Red Sea airport, with onward connections to NEOM.
  • Riyadh King Khalid International Airport (RUH) is the main Saudi hub for global connections.
  • Aqaba King Hussein International Airport (AQJ) in Jordan is on the opposite shore of the Gulf of Aqaba and is sometimes used as an approach.

NEOM operates dedicated shuttle and helicopter transfers from NEOM Bay Airport to Sindalah and within the region.

Visas and entry

Saudi Arabia offers an e-visa for citizens of more than 60 countries, valid for tourism stays. The e-visa can be applied for online before travel. Citizens of countries with a Saudi consular presence can also apply for traditional visas. Some Gulf citizens enter without a visa.

Travellers should check current visa requirements with the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs or with a qualified travel agent.

When to go

NEOM spans three climate zones, so the best time depends on the destination.

  • Sindalah and the Red Sea coast are pleasant year-round, with milder temperatures from November through April and warmer summers from May through October.
  • Trojena is best in the winter (December through March) for snow sports and in the summer (June through September) for hiking and outdoor recreation. Spring and autumn offer mild shoulder-season weather.
  • Inland desert is most comfortable from October through March.

The wider Red Sea coast offers world-class diving from November through May, with peak conditions in the cooler months.

What to do

The combinations of activities at NEOM include:

  • Beach and yachting at Sindalah and the future Magna marina destinations.
  • Diving and snorkelling in the Red Sea coral reefs.
  • Mountain hiking and biking in the Sarawat range around Trojena.
  • Winter sports at Trojena once operating.
  • Desert hiking, climbing, and astronomy at Leyja.
  • Cultural exploration in the wider Tabuk Province, including ancient rock art and historic settlements.

How to plan a trip
